What is Surface protection tape?

Surface protection tape, also known as surface protection film, is used to protect surfaces from many different hazards.  It is used in industries such as metal fabrication, electronics and appliances, high pressure laminates, HVAC air-ducts, marble and stone and plastics. Our duct and vent protective films, for example, are designed to seal off ductwork during storage, transportation and construction.  Our carpet protection film products are designed to protect synthetic carpets from tracked-in dirt, spills, dust and damage during high-traffic conditions.

Selecting A Surface Protection Tape

When shopping for surface protection tapes, you’ll have many different options to choose from. Measure the surface you need to protect first, before you purchase tape and consider the following factors:

1. Application Surface: What type of surface will the surface protection tape be used on. Different tapes are appropriate depending on the size and type of surface.
2. How is masking applied?
3. Temperature of application?
4. Length of time masking is on surface?
5. Exposure to UV Radiation/Sunlight?
6. Exposure to moisture?
7. Exposure to temperature after application? (Temperature Range & Duration)
8. Processing masked materials will encounter?
9. Is the material stored in a sheet or roll form?
10. Storage: How will the item be stored after the surface protection tape is applied. Consider storage temperature, and exposure to sunlight and moisture.

Bensalem, PA – November 4, 2009 – Presto Tape has announced they will launch their newest tape, the 7352 Clear Application Tape for purchase November 2009. This is their first clear tape, made of ultra clear polypropylene film for fast and easy application.

The 7352 tape has better registration and better clarity than any of Presto Tape’s products. It is wrinkle free and has no oil or residue upon removal. Tape Man Blue, who has sold Presto Tape products since 2005, will also distribute this new tape online.
